Microbiologist & Sanitation Specialist - needed in a Multinational Company in Nigeria

We have immediate need to recruit suitably qualified, competent, and result-oriented professionals to fill the following position:

A: Microbiologist

 This role will report to the Quality Control Specialist. Specific responsibilities will include to: 

1.    Carry out microbiological laboratory tests for finished products, work in progress, raw materials etc. by following the correct methods of analysis and work instructions while ensuring that Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is adhered to

2.    Ensure all Proficiency tests are carried out in a timely and accurate manner to agreed schedule and all results documented correctly

3.       Conduct Pathogen testing for Raw materials, finished products and environmental samples (PEM)

4.       Test environmental samples including water, air, production equipment, personnel, and lab surfaces & equipment according to the specified schemes and report results for monitoring and full compliance to Company's International standard

Key Requirements:

·         A good first degree in Microbiology.  Relevant professional qualification(s) will be an advantage

·    Minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in a related role. Good knowledge of GMP, HACCP Standards, ISO Food Safety and Quality Systems will be a distinct advantage

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills

·         Excellent problem solving skills and good customer focus orientation.

B: Sanitation Specialist

This role will report to the Quality Assurance Manager. Specific responsibilities will include to:

1.    Develop and oversee the implementation of the local sanitation plan to ensure all sanitation standards are adhered to in line with global sanitation requirements

2.    Keep abreast of all global sanitation policy changes and make sure that they are communicated to the plant and implemented to ensure compliance

3.    Support plant projects to ensure that all sanitation aspects are fully complied with i.e. Sanitation Design Review

4.    Work with pest control service providers in assessing the plant for compliance and review the pest control report to develop necessary pest control interventions

5.    Work closely with the plants to continually improve the level of GMP, GHK and hygiene conditions of the factories

6.    Conduct training internally to establish common understanding and compliance to sanitation requirements

Key Requirements 

·         A good first degree in Biochemistry / Microbiology / Food Science & Technology. Relevant professional qualification(s) will be an advantage

·         Minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in a related role. Good knowledge of GMP, GHK, HACCP Standards, ISO Food Safety and Quality Systems will be a distinct advantage

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills

·         Excellent problem solving skills and good customer focus orientation
